Yeah I love the blue on that one, but I also think this board is really nice looking as well.

thats a thing i dont like from the asus baord, they are ugly, blue, white and red, since when a motherbaord need to have the montreal canadian color.

i like better looking board like DFI lan party, evga, biostar etc.

hey, there will be no Habs hating in this thread! vive les habitant!!! vive les expos!!!

as for looks, that is obviously a personal preference. i don't mind the looks of the RE. the heat sinks are nice and dark and really give it a tough look. at the same time, that blue of the WS Evolution is just hot as well. one thing is for certain, they both look better than any Gigabyte board (as i look over at the pastel color mess sitting beside me).

as for the WS Evolution being as good...possibly, some guys that have it are putting up great numbers. it obviously doesn't come with the bells and whistles of the RE but the pure performance is going to be similar i think...hence, the similar price tag.

oh, and managed to get a bit more at 7-6-5, appears the 266 strap was holding them back just a bit. switched to the 333 strap and 7-6-5 just finished dual 32M at 990MHz 2.15v. here's to hoping dual 32M 7-6-5 1000MHz

990MHz :: 2.15v

notice the drop in bandwidth from the above screenshot to the 980MHz one. not bad for changing straps but it seemed to only help clocks a little bit. might need to loosen up the Performance Level or add some vMCH though to get more.

From everything I see, the performance of the WS may be compared to the Rampage Extreme but only time will tell. So you would basically end up paying the same price for a board that may overclock at a lower level just to get some blue pieces....oy.

Also, that Frontier PC link seems to have the board at a pretty inflated price since the going rate for it is around $390.

Makes me wonder what the Mushkin 4GB and the G.skill FZ kit can do.

i don't have time to mess around with the memory clocks anymore after another sleepless night trying so i have now moved on to XMP testing, not sure how many kits will get the full treatment for the review but at least one 2x1GB kit and one 2x2GB will. all of my XMP kits will at least get dual 32M SPi testing here for the OC Report. first up is a kit of Dominators from Corsair...

Yeah, we like to inflate pricing..... we dont do much component sales anyway. That is why you ask me for quotes Lol....I can do some pretty aggressive pricing. I wouldnt mind grabbing a WS just to see what I can get out of it. Maybe, maybe.....

When the RE is released do you mind seeing what you can get it for?

@ Jody: Are you planning on keeping the board? Oh yes Grover wants this board. If your not I'll call dibs on it used.
