well you would slash hugely by purchasing an 8800GTS instead of a 8800GTX and if you look at the benchmarks comparison you can see that 2x 8800GTS in SLI is nothing to sneeze at. Google 8800GTS/GTX reviews and read some of the lengthy reviews done on this product
2x WD 160GB Sata's are hella lot less than raptors saving you big bux and providing some very good speed. I have done the burnin test via Sisoft Sandra and the performance is more than acceptable

I gotta say that I can't recommend SLI unless you absolutely need it. It's a huge hassle just to get it to work properly. Personally I'd rather spend that time using my computer rather than wrestling with it to make it work.

If your building on a budget like i did (i had to keep the build under 1200cdn) my only choise was the GTS, it will work just fine in all games, you just wont be able to perform at 2048 x 1536 on a 32inch monitor :(

I have never had a single issue running SLI on either my AMD 2x64 3800+ w/ 2x 6800GS's that's been running two years or with the 2x 8800GTS's even under Vista which seems to have a problem with just about everything lol

I also saw someone post about resolution drawbacks with the 8800GTS...I have a 2407WFP running 1920x1200 and have had no issues playing any games with one 8800GTS or with two and have even run some very sweet benches with 3dMark05/06 and FEAR, Prey, FC, Doom3, and Quake4 although when I play it's usually at 1680x1050 so I can read text without squinting

For cooling the one that gets a lot of good reviews is the Arctic Freezer Pro series. It's cheap too You can get that at NCIX for $30CAN.

That one is in this machine and it's overclocked to 3.2ghz and the temps under full load haven't gone over 50C.
