Question EVGA 750i FTW - Yah or Nah?

Is the EVGA 750i FTW worth the $200 upgrade from my P35-DS3L to run a second 9600GT or will I see lack luster performance when it comes to overclocking my E2160 compared to my P35-DS3L?

Instead of spending $200 to be able to run 9600GT's in SLI, why not buy a new 4850? Then sell your 9600GT for whatever you can get.

Or spend $200 on a new CPU? You're getting in range of the E8400 with such a budget. Or even a Q6600 with this week's specials: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...1&promoid=1082.

The 750i is an amazing board. I've enjoyed it very much, oc'ing is a dream on it and it's wonderful to work with.

Thanks for the all the input folks.

What do you think would gain me the best performance per price
  1. Intel E8400
  2. Intel Q6600
  3. ATI Radeon HD4850
  4. EVGA 750i SLI FTW + second GeForce 9600 GT

I would say the 4850. But that's just me, hard to tell if that CPU will limit more then the Vid card.

Q6600 hands-down, for $20 more than the E8400. But the AC7 Pro may be an issue for the Quad, where it's more than capable of handling an E8400.
I'd say it's a toss-up.

Well the AC7 isn't an issue as it is now out of the equation. I was wondering my temps were higher than normal, when I removed the AC7 I discovered that two of the plastic clips were broke and the AC7 wasn't making proper contact, so on Thursday I need to order a new HSF so depending prices it's going to either be a Tuniq Tower or a TRUE 120.
