Just a quick question, did you do any gaming benchmarks above 1080p? I've gone through a couple of reviews and it seems odd but Ryzen seems to kick it up when at 1440p+ for DX11 and DX12 titles.
Just a correction to that. Ryzen doesn't "kick it up" but rather the field tightens up due to the GPU becoming a bottleneck for top-end performance.

So you cant add 4 x 16gb ddr4 (<=2400)-just 2 x 16gb modules (<=2400)?

If so to get 64gb you need 2 x 32gb modules- which are not mainstream?

Hopefully the overclocking will improve with water--but maybe not. Still very solid but would like to run 64gb at some-point.

Impressive for the price but intel could counter aggressively with cheaper 8 cores down the road.

If you need 2x16GB modules stick to ones that operate at 2400MHz or less

If you need 4x 16GB modules, 1866MHz or less.

Review seems to cover most of what I need to know paired off with other sites reviews I have mixed feelings where the IPC sort of sits in the i7 3770 camp so a bit disappointed there but the 16 threads are very competitive and a win imho.

I'll sit on the side lines for a while and see what happens with the 6c/12t ryzen and 4c/8t.

Thanks for the review.

Ps, SMT1 seems to be causing grief in a few games like BF1 and Total Warhammer.

Is there anything else you think should have been added to our review?

Thanks ordered the 1800x with the asus x370 hero and 2 x 16gb corsair vengeance 2400. Need an affordable number cruncher that can play games. Should be a nice upgrade from a 4930k system.
I hope its stable!

Single thread performance is there. ;)

As for SMT, it works perfectly fine on Broadwell-E and Kaby Lake as evidenced by the results. If anything, there may be an issue with Ryzen's scheduler that's mucking things up.

Great review SKYMTL
I guess I will have to buy some 2x16GB modules stick, instead of using my 4x 16GB modules of 2400MHz.

Broadwell-E can handle 128GB (16GB*8) at DDR4-3200, not sure about Haswell-E since kits that large and that fast weren't really around so I can't find them in the QVL documents.
