Default P8P67-PRO dying - Need replacement

Hi all,

It's been a while I've look for parts. My P8P67-PRO is showing signs of age. BIOS randomly resets all settings and I am getting a chassis intruder alert 1 boot out of 2. I also see some slowness but I think this is just me. Yeah I could try to fix it, but my inner geek says it's time to start a gradual upgrade.

Given that
  • I hate my SLI and won't go back to it
  • I won't be changing more parts right now (EDIT: Just realized my i7 isn't compatible)
  • My current build (obviously)
  • I don't OC but maybe will
  • I don't liquid cool but maybe will (less likely, don't like the maintenance)
Should I
  1. Be reasonable and fix it
  2. Go straight to X99
  3. Keep money and go to X97
  4. Keep my mobo until new USB standard gets out and then go for a cheaper X99
  5. Keep my mobo until it dies completely and then go for a cheaper X99

Also, please explain your choice and suggest models (I like having the best).

Thank you.

Have you tried replacing the coin battery first? It's probably the cheapest thing you can try.

Yeah well like I said, I followed my inner geek and immediatly went to "UPGRADE!!!". But now I realize I'm more into a $1k+ upgrade.

So what I'll do tonight is:
  • Update BIOS
  • Clear CMOS (I'll find out how)
  • Replace battery (probly Thursday)

Here is an option if your motherboard doesn't work out.

It's been sold. However, I do have a LNIB Z77-UD3H rev 1.1 with box manual etc and with proof of purchase. Warranty is still in tact for over 2 years. PM me if you are interested!
