So I imagine the devil's canyon is the refreshed Hashwell, it only works on Intel 9 series chipset and from what I understand barely has any improvements besides the temperature side correct?

The rest of the news is great, I would love to see a APU vs CPU with Iris Pro Desktop article.

I'm hoping for a six-core haswell-e part that clocks well to replace my current rig which can get handed down to replace my brother's C2D setup. May also put together a mini-itx oc'd pentium system to replace the wife's loud q9550 setup.

I'm really hoping they do improve the thermal interface on the non -E parts.

I can't imagine why they wouldn't.... hasn't it been pretty much confirmed that a big part of the issue is just a poor process / contact?

The TIM is awful, no doubt about it, but managing heat on these smaller processes cannot be discounted.

Haswell refresh requiring Series 9 is rather disappointing, but I'm pleased by the Broadwell news.

Mostly microcode and thermals but that may have a drastic trickle-down effect upon Turbo frequencies.
