Nice looking board. For 2.5x the cost of the Hero does it do 2.5x the stuff? Will it turn an i3 into an i7? I certainly hope so. 500 bucks.

The R4BE is 2.5x better looking than the Hero, does that count?

Nice looking board, but not enough of a performance difference for me to switch my present RIVE. Nice looking simply doesn't do it as far as I'm concerned. Anyone with the original RIVE has no need for the Black edition. IMO.

^^^^ But Slik....the RIVE is just as "old" as the 3930k :) .....and it's not the "best" anymore, you gotta get it as it's "optimized" for Ivy-E!!!!!

Agreed, if you've got a great working RIVE not worth it.

Pretty funny rj. At one time not too long ago,I really felt that way. If there was something new or "better",I HAD to have it. Right now!! My buddy Killswitch has been on me for some time to fully understand "if it ain't broke.." I think I'm good for now. That is until Haswell-E is released. It just NEVER ends.

^^^^ I was like yourself a few yrs ago.....I've "settled" down a bit and my decisions to purchase are well weighed!!!! Once you have a great MB n CPU combo with very good OC results, I agree with Killswitch, if it ain't broke........

2014 will be very good, X99 n Maxwell GPU's..... !!!

Although I am "thinking" of ditching these 3 680's for a couple of 780ti's ;)

Well no it won't because it's a different socket.

Awesome looking board but daaaamn $500 bucks is steep.

Plus, it is an overpriced board for a dead-end socket - LGA 2011 will be replaced by LGA 2011-3. So this board is for people that have more money than brains or unless this mobo has really something one needs that the previous ASUS LGA 2011 boards did not have - aside from the black PCB.

Am I reading this correctly?? Did someone hijack Slik's account?
