Default Any new APU's on the horizon?

Any new APU's on the horizon? I don't closely follow AMD and wondering if any of the knowledgeable AMD fans out there know of what is on the horizon as far as APU's go. I'm considering building one for my wifey and possible even downgrading and building one for myself since my "hardcore" gaming days are over.

The next gen APUs, "kaveri" are heavily rumoured to be release early next year. These will require an FM2+ Mobo.

Well that was a bit of an older thread revival, but since its up to the top I might as well add a bit. Supposedly AMD will either "...unveil, or at least tease its next-generation desktop APU, codename "Kaveri," on November 11, 2013."

Apparently there is a top SKU that has more processing power than the Radeon HD 7750. Unfortunately will be crippled by the bandwith offered by DDR3. Only the next generation after Kaveri, code name Carizzo will use DDR4, supposed to land in 2015 (if there is no delay).

Ya know if you are going top spend $150 for a new A10 APU it surprises me enough people will want to save $10 (less than 10%) and buy a slower APU? The price range from store to store is more than that. (Shopbot.ca shows a range of $149.79 to $179.95 for the A10-6800 today).

If it was 20% or more less maybe but to save $10 on a $150 purchase? I guess the high paid suits in the AMD Marketing Dept. must have done the research that says people will do that.

AMD Introduces Kaveri, Its Most Powerful APU Ever | News & Opinion | PCMag.com

It will be interesting to see the new APUs this time around. I have the first AMD apu and it runs OK but based on the very old K10 and 6000 series cards. the kaveri will have the new Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) design which will be interesting.

When you're trying to meet a budget (which is when you would use an APU) of $500 or less, $10 makes a significant difference.
