Default Intel i7-4930K & i7-4820K Review Comment Thread

Intel's Ivy Bridge-E may be associated with extreme pricing, but the i7-4930K and i7-4820K brings things down a notch. With great performance and lower price points, they add some value to the IVB-E equation.

I know you guys have been waiting for this so I brought its release forward by a few days. With that in mind, some minor things are still a WIP like the descriptions below the charts but for the most part, it's all there.

Damn, why do you do this to me? A 4820K + the new R4EBE looks so good right now.

Yeah, that i7-4820K is going straight into my gaming system with the new X79 Deluxe. Great combo IMO.

I'm going to see if I can get it to 5GHz after I get back from Hawaii.

Sky,

Are you going to Hawai for that AMD Presentation of new cards? If so, when should we start seeing reviews/benchies of the new AMD high-end cards?

The 4820K really is tempting. I might go that way if I can sell my MVF.

Thankfully I'll be working solid for the next 50 days and have no need to pay the current $60 markup on the 4820k by the time I can actually build with it... I'm drooling... if I even get 4.7 Ghz on water I'm gonna be so excited (and then leave it at a modest 4.4-4.5 ghz for 24/7 use). Now to pick a good mATX board to go with it and hopefully avoid spending $300.

You think you do, until you realize that it's 60-80 hours a week without pay on top of your day job.
