Default MSI Motherboards, Any Good? RMA In Canada?

Hey guys

I'm looking at picking up an MSI mobo that's on sale right now. Haven't had any experience with MSI and wanted to get your impressions and experiences before I dive in. Does MSI have an RMA centre in Canada?

Board will not be overclocked and will be going into my wife's new build. She is not a heavy user at all. Mostly just web surf/VPN to work.

A few forum members on this site will tell you that MSI manufactures great boards. I run one in my main rig (z77-gd45), it's a mid-range board, and so far it's been fantastic. Overclocks nicely, and so far has been dead reliable.

It doesn't have as many fancy features as some of the higher end ASUS boards, such as AI Suite II, those come in handy for heavy overclockers. Sometimes I miss being able to adjust all my mainboard settings right from Windows.

MSI gets a thumbs up from me, and I'll be looking at their products for future builds/upgrades, too.

I've had excellent RMA service from them on several occasions with twin frozr gfx cards. While I'm probably not going to buy any more TF cards, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase other kit from them.

Why Not? Looking at the 760 TF myself...

Maybe they've improved them since the model I purchased, but sli'd 560ti cards both had fan failures twice. That's 4 failures on two cards.... hardly a record which inspires me to purchase more of them..... ;)

In fairness, I was GPU folding 24/7 back then so the fans had been pegged to 80%+ so more than likely they'd have been fine using the stock fan profile.

I've had 2 Z77 MSI boards and 3 of my friends have 1 each. None of us have had any problems whatsoever and ime they have been rock solid overclockers.

I think they have 3 RMA centers in Canada iirc.

Hmm, okay. I fold 24/7, but the fans on my 660's never went above 30% (stock clocked). I should expect the 760 fans to run at a similar speed, so they should be okay.

Thanks, just checking.
