The non gaming version of the MSI is blue

Looks like Intel are pushing a new stepping for July some time that fixes this bug too...

Asrock would be another option for the black/gold but then it comes to brand preference of Asus / Asrock.

I did have a quick look at the ASRock Extreme 6. I like the board and thought I could just remove or paint over the yellow on the heat sinks. I'm just not convinced the quality is there.

I've built over 60 budget rigs for home and work over the last 10 years using ASRock boards. Not one failure.

I have the ASRock z77 EXtreme 3 right now and it is a fantastic board for the price.

I may just do that guys. Thanks.

Edit: Going through the review it would seem this board is not really a "budget" board afterall. Which is good. Apparently the one ting people are on about is last gen BIOS in appearance. LMAO, I'm still using BIOSes that reflect 2001. As long as the BIOS does it's thing, who cares? As long as it is inuitive and easy to use.

Since ASRock is now a Tier1 I believe, and have a lot to prove I find their boards/products to be absolutely solid offerings.
Something I would always consider for future builds.
Once Intel has its last Blue/Black board through Foxconn.......ASRock will take their place.

Did notice the Extreme 6 still has a death grip on PCI and PS/2

ASRock is known for doing that however.
It was one of their signature selling points back in the day. Good on them to be honest.
