If these USD Haswell prices are about right, is that what places like newegg charge? And since the US-Canadian $ are about the same, does newegg.ca up here charge about the same?

Usually these are the tray prices, so what OEM's pay per CPU in a tray of however many they come as. I would add a couple extra % to those prices if you want to estimate your build cost.

Also you normally pay a bit of a new release tax from retailers the first month or so.

For an upcoming 1150mobo with PCIe 3.0 x8/x8 for crossfire and at least a PCIe 2.0 x4 for my soundcard

I should be able to get 1 for under $200 before sh+tax right ? No big price hikes excepted there is there?
