Finding screws for AMD mobo bracket (how hard?) Damn my luck. lol My heatsink died the other day...so I thought i'd install the one that came with my AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition. But there was a screw missing for the bracket that connects to the motherboard. http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...-img-2852s.jpg I found a hdd screw and thought...I could maybe force this one in. But I don't like doing things like that. I can't believe it...i've saved so many screws from past computers...you'd think one of them would work. lol I had been fantasizing about getting one of the Corsair cpu coolers...so today I went out and got the H100i. My previous heatsink (Cooler Master V6/GT) didn't require the cpu's original bracket so I wasn't expecting the H100i to need it...but it does. Sooooo...how easy do you think it will be to get another one of those screws? BTW...i'm kind of disappointed to see that V6 GT die on me after less than 20000 hours. Their site says 40000. It gradually slowed down over the past week...working intermittently, then stopped. Thanks for any help you can offer regarding finding a replacement screw. :) |
I have some PM me your address I will throw them in the mail for you :) |
Surely it's just a dead fan? RMA it? |
take the screw to a local hardware store and match it up. Or try you local pc shop, they usually ave a whole pile of that stuff lying around. |
