i tend to agree that newer builds are tough to feel the difference between i3 i5 and i7

I firmly believe that as the system ages (2+ years and beyond), the i5 and i7 users will have a much more pleasurable computer experience side by side an i3. Hence I have never recommended an i3

i3's are a perfectly reasonable choice (especially on a budget but then there is AMD) but as said above, i5+ for a system that will actually last a decent length of time.

Graphical test such as heaven run extremely well. And a hyperthreaded dual core is more powerful that it gets credit for.

I had an i3 2100 & an i7 2600 .i7 was slightly better in gaming & in video audio editing. For Internet browsing and office softwares just get an AMD .
