Default OC on GA-Z68A-D3H-B3. Whats best, 2500k, 3570k?

This mobo only has a 4pin power connector for the CPU and I'm hearing the 2500k can get starved at higher OCs. Can anyone tell me if I'd be better off with a 3570k instead?

Cooling shouldn't be an issue. I have a h60 as well as a EVGA Superclock air cooler. Not sure which im going to use yet but either should do the trick. The EVGA ranks up there with the d14 but its a tight fit in my case.

My System Specs

he was asking what you have cause it affects your OC

personal i would go with a mild overclock on that board just cause its not meant for extreme overclocking aim for 4.2 or 4.3 which is crazy easy to do with both of those cpu's

i personal would grab a 2500k since the performance difference is next to nothing and the money you save on the 2500k i have owned 2600k 3770k and 2500k's and out of all of them the only one i am still using is the 2500k bang for buck it's the best chip imho

Yep I know. Not concerned about heat. Both of those CPUs run cooler than the i7 960 I just sold and my coolers did the trick fine there. My concern lies with the board and if it can provide enough power to the 2500k with only 4pins. The 3570k uses less power but is not as good an oc'r compared to the 2500k. From what you say and from what others have said the 2500k is the best option but the 3570k would probably do just as well with mild oc on this board correct? I got a good deal on this board. I can probably upgrade it in a few months and get a z77 or better z68 to do some proper oc.

Thanks gingerbee . Good advice.
