The X3 is turning out to be a not half bad cpu for the price. Would be great if you were building a budget HTPC .

It's been a patient wait for most of us. I'd like to get my hands on one if it would come in Black Edition. Considering there the same processors as the X4.

I can't wait to see some trial system results.

I really don’t like the idea because I think they are just rejects from their
Quad wafers that they find 1 bad core on, and don’t want to scrap.
So they disable the faulty core and pon it off as a tri-core to improve their manufacturing yield.

Just my opinion, but it just feels tainted.

I agree with DK2 to a certain degree, however this does offer HTPC users far better performance then any X2 will provide and at least watching a bluray movie won't bring it to its knees.

I missed that.
X3, 2M shared L3 and 512K L2 per core = 3.5M
X4, 2M shared L3 and 512K L2 per core = 4M

Basically a quad core with 1 core and its L2 cache stripped out.

With good marketing you can still sell it.
