Default Core Temp and FX-8320 (bug?)

So I've been using Core Temp's system tray icon to show the CPU temps, and I've noticed that it went down as low as 7 degrees.

the CPU is in a fractal r4 with the stock two fans and a h80 with a p14 exhausting out the back 140 mm vent.

it wasn't really doing anything besides having a skype call and a browser with youtube in the background, but the temp still seems low for that, do AMD systems just normally run cool?

is there a bug with core temp with the chip? I don't actually have a thermometer around the house.

Software temp readings have never been accurate other than as a reference point from what it records as idle and what it displays for load. Unless your room is below 10c, having a legit reading of 7c is impossible without some kind of chiller attached to your cpu.

I have noticed non load readings on the new AMDs anyways to conflict with different software readings. I have an ASUS board and the asus software says one thing that tends to be higher then say core temp, or corsair link when sitting idle. Under load though they seem to all agree within 1 degree.

ya, the thermostat was set at 15 degrees, the kitchen was cooking, the kitchen window was open, the computer is in the 'dining room' next to the kitchen with no real dividing wall, and I wasn't cold. All that made the 7C reading very iffy looking. I know software readings aren't the most accurate, but it was far off enough from what i expected that it feels like a bug.

Just so you know, there isn't a program out there (other than AMD's own software) which properly supports temp monitoring on Vishera processors. ASUS' new Ai Tuner does as well but that comes with some extra baggage....
