Default AMD FX-8350 Vishera CPU Review COMMENT THREAD

AMD's new FX-8350 is the new kid on the processor block but it, along with the other Vishera CPUs, house technology we've seen before. Like Trinity, this eight core processor uses the revised Piledriver architecture which is supposed to grant it substantial performance improvements over Bulldozer. But will it be enough to overcome, let alone compete with Intel's offerings?

despite the 2nd and 3rd last paragraphs saying 3850 looks like a damn good cpu for the price although in some dx9 benches it kind of falters hopefully dx9 dies soon.

also i believe that base and turbo are mixed up in the 3 column.

Pardon my sleepy eyes, but did I read x87 instruction set? Am I the only one that hasn't heard of this? (Admittedly its one of the first cpu reviews in a while that i read in its entirety, lol)

Good review though! Nice to see the new Chip punching the "bully" in the mouth here and there.

Glad I held off on grabbing a new GPU, I'm thinking my Crosshair IV is a bit long in the tooth, so Its time for an upgrade. (Btw, still an awesome value mobo, lasted me years and could keep going if it weren't obsessive, lol)

Yes you read it right. x87. Legacy. Most compilers until a few years ago used it. Some odd ones still do.

Ah my bad then, haha.

Also... availability? Im overdue for a 990 board and a 8350 will fit it nicely.

Yoinks....

Newegg.ca - AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Tubo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8350FRHKBOX

Newegg premium or AMD understating prices? Hmmmmm
