My System Specs

Default CPU Temps from two diff board/cpu combos but same case

So I had a 1366 board with an i7-930 chip and the motherboard died. It routinely had CPU temps of 35-40 with an H70 cooler.

I put a 1155 board in with an i5-3570K chip with the same H70 cooler and case. It has temps of 20-25 C. And I am thinking that is room temperature and that is pretty amazing and I wonder if I did something wrong. Neither chips were overclocked. Never had time to try.

Thought it was interesting data points so I posted it.

I had a 930 cooled by an H50 and those were about right for temps without issue. That was one hot running chip. My i5 2400 barely hits at full load on air what my i7 930 did on light duty.

Like Ena said, it is much more efficient design.
