Some Specs turn up for new AMD chips
 

w0mbat strikes again- I'm assuming that it's the same w0mbat that discovered the plans for an nvidia 8800 ultra ans an 8400gs by combing through nvidia's latest driver code. Well now he's posted some specs for the upcoming AMD chips on a german forum.

I just hope that there will be some kind of improvement over the current AMD chip on the market.

Your probably right. Im interested in seeing some test between Intel's Kentsfield and that AMD FX Quad core!

Ah so thats just the same Quad core ? I mean like the Dual FXs dual core set-up on a mobo that can accept 2 CPU ? I thought it was a new Quad core chip... a Real Quad core chip.

Yeah- the ones in the link are the current generation- the next generation will be on the same chip

There will be many other improvements to AM2+ CPUs besides the quad core nature of them. I expect this to be a very close fight again.

Yeah- that article I posted last week by Anand Lal Shampi outlined the new architecture and the improvments did sound promising- I didn't mean to give the impression that the new chips would just be the old ones stacked together.
