My System Specs

Default Opinions

I am currently building a PC for my father and have an i7 960 that I was planning on using for it process. I also have access to a cheap 2600k. Do you guys suggest selling the 960 and picking up the 2600k? I need to purchase a motherboard anyways so I guess I could go either way. He will be using the PC for gaming and for video editing, photoshop, etc...

i would try and sell the 960 to get the newer chip. Not sure how much you'd get for it; maybe 130-150 shipped. I think the 2600k is a decent upgrade from the 960to make it worth the hassle of selling the 960.

What kind of gaming does he do? I would be leaning toward the 2600K.

He actually plays BF3 and some older games. I am going with the 2600k I think.
