Default The Tech Report: Inside the second with CPUs

This is an excellent article that they've been working on for a few months now.

Inside the second: Gaming performance with today's CPUs

Basically, it reiterates what we've all known since Bulldozer came out. They put current and previous generation Intel and AMD CPUs through their paces in different game benchmarks. Overall, the results are predictable, with only a few upsets. The basic premise is that any CPU will be adequate for gaming, but if you want truly buttery frame rates, at a good price, go for the i5 3470.

It's a good read.

Yes, I read that on Ars this morning. It makes me happy I got a 3930k because in most games they test the CPU does make a difference.

Yea the fact that AMD's new cpu's can hardly keep up with the old tech makes me glad i have a X61100 still.... but the lack of board choices is why im going intel next primarily
