Sandy Bridge Heatsinks - quick question

My family member happens to have an extra intel stock heatsink from a 2600K he got. I was just wondering if it is bigger or otherwise different from the heatsinks for lower end intel SB CPUs, such as the i3-2100 or even the SB pentiums

No it's exactly the same.

same exact cooler all around now for intel the only difference is the fan just spins alot faster for the i7's

okay thanks. all i needed to know. was kinda hoping that the 2600K heatsink would be a 'free upgrade'

The 2100's have a non-copper base, but other then that, the heatsink itself is the same. You may be able to achieve a few temp difference from it, as well as the faster fan.

^^^From what I have seen they all look the same, but as mentioned above the higher end cpu's have a copper core in the heatsink, whereas the low end ones are all aluminum.
