I got around to updating my R4E on Sunday. As noted above, it shuts down to update and doesn't say what's happening other than a couple of blinking leds (they blink faster as it progresses), but it takes about 3-4 minutes.

I will say I love the new 2105 Bios for the R4E, boot time is about 1/3 what it used to be.

That may just be enough to make me upgrade!

With my RevoDrive my boot time is horrendous. It's well over a minute before Windows even starts loading.

Flashed this over the weekend and laid down a clean Windows 8 install. Now booting pure EFI and GPT

It's amusing how the RoG logo overrides the Windows logo at bootup. Kind of impressive actually, gives it a more polished feel.

How are your boot times? Are they "1/3" of the pre flash boot up times?

I would say roughly, though like I said before the RevoDrive X2 really slows things down. It's POST takes just as long as the motherboard I'd say.

Well, good to hear about the improved boot-up times, though it sucks about your RevoDrive - giving you a headache.

i just did the update the other day as well. that long pause was a little unsettling, despite having read you guys all saying it happens. my boot times are dramatically decreased as well, which is awesome. it also seems my overclock requires a bit less voltage this time, but i may have just got lazy last time and didnt take it as low as i could. either way, im happy with it.
