i7 3770k or i5 3570k

hello i am new here so dont know much about cpu
wich one is better for gaiming ?
i wil do most gaming bit photoshop
i heard things that i5 better , but i wana be sure that i get the right one. with wich one my pc will be faster and powerfull and better i can spend the extra 100 for i7 its not a problem. but do i get same great performance on gaiming as the i5 with i7 , is i7 zero better on gaiming??

The i7 has little to no advantage in games over the i5. I would put that extra $100 into a better GPU.

The i7 is better and is boss but it offers no extra gaming performance then the i5 3570k. You are correct. As suggested above if your rig is strictly for gaming it would be best to spend the extra 100 on the graphics card instead of i7.

Yeah, I went back and forth on this one and went 3570k, I don't see any downside unless you do something very CPU heavy.

i will be buying a gtx 680. i have money for i7 so if i can take i7 why not right?:) or stay with i5. i think is the same as if someone offers you 7k$ and 5k$ what would you take?:D

get the i5.. more than enough power to last you a good few years.. your not doing anything that processor intensive, hell I used to regularly video edit on a mid range core2 dual core lappy without much issue.. and you will see 0 difference in games.

drop the 680 too unless you have a large resolution monitor (more than 1920x1080) 670 will be more than enough to have everything max'd in any game..

at the end of the day spend the least you can now (for max performance) so that you have more later when you eventually upgrade.. that may be a yr or so (or a monitor upgrade away)

The oc'd 670's are as good as a stock 680.. and push them a bit more and they are the same as the factory oc'd 680's. just look at the gigabyte windforce and asusdcii reviews for what I mean.

Hey if you got the money and you like to have the best(which it sounds like you do) go with the 3770k.

I am considering upgrading my 2500k to 3770k even though I only game :P

Go with i5 over i7. Go with 670 over 680.

Use the $200 saved to treat your girl out to a fancy dinner. Have wild sex afterwards. Profit!!!

If you do tasks that are heavily threaded then go for the i7, otherwise the i5 is the way to go with virtually the same gaming performance. For graphics I would also go with a gtx 670. If you ever needed more FPS you could add a second GPU at a later time.
