Intel sure sh!t the bed with x79. If they striped any more features it wouldnt have Sata ports.

Hmmm that is very good to know... and yes while X79 is great its nothing compared to what intel promised

I'm not sure I understand the hate? If I'm reading it correctly their page says "GTX 6xx is 3.0 compliant. PCIE 2.0 motherboards that have bios updates to make them run at 8.0 GT/s (aka PCIE3.0) have issues, use at own risk"? It also says true 3.0 motherboards work fine with standard release drivers.

For me it is the constant castration of high end chipsets. It seems they don't even understand what it means. Gets frustrating when a $110 motherboard has twice as many sata6 ports and truly supports pci-e 3.0. Also Nvidia had high end video cards that didn't support hd bit stream when a $55 card did.
