Haswell release date?

Does anyone have any idea of when Intel is supposed to release Haswell? Wiki says March - June 2013.

My i7 920 is still kickin ass..but i'm itching to try build a new system.

Try this... take your current one to bits, clean everything as good as you can.. new TIM etc and see how much better your temps are...
I do this about 2 -3 times a year and find it scratched the itch at least a bit and keeps my pc nice and healthy.

Only thing is.. the more you scratch, the more you itch.

It is getting a bit dusty and I do need a new fan controller.....My main reason is the lack of proper Sata III, my Crucial M4's are stuck on the Sata II ports.

.. so why not pick up some Ivy Bridge? It's relatively new still, and would be a pretty decent upgrade from a 920.

Same reason as me probably... Can't justify the cost as the performance is still pretty damn good.


Am surprised you don't have sata3. Might be worth looking at a second-hand board with sata 3 if thats all your looking for.

X58 boards had the Marvel 9128 Sata 3 ports...they are more useless than nipples on men, no trim support, no raid, about 2/3 the speed of the new proper Intel Sata 3 ports. The Intel Sata II ports on my board offer almost identical speeds without the flakyness of the Marvell.
