So I did it, got a free upgrade from my 965 to a 1055. Yay. I'm just running a very small overclock at the moment. 3.3 GHZ, no voltage increase. It seems like my
current cooler wasn't up to the task of running this cpu at 4 GHz with the requisite voltage increase. Plus I ran into problems with my RAM settings (I was getting memory errors when running LINX) so I'll have to do a little more research to figure out how to fix that. So, a little more work to be done, but all in all, I'm happy with the chip. Folding numbers got a nice little boost. It's getting about 50% more points than my 965 quad core was getting, even though it's at a lower frequency (the quad was OC'd to about 3.7). Courtesy of the two extra physical cores, I suppose.
