Resulst are hit and miss. I know a guy that removed the IHS and his temps went up by 5C lol. If you like risking your $$ for nothing go ahead but I wont be doing this.

That is just to big of a risk to take to gain a few more degrees cooler.Thats just $300 or $200 that could go up in smoke ,plus you would have to be careful and not put to much pressure on the bare chip.

You wouldn't be cooling the bare chip, you put the IHS back on.
