Default Can someone explain what this riser card looking part is?

Newegg.com - ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard with USB BIOS


Even the Asus site doesn't seem to explain it, lol.

If you zoom in on the pic it says it's the "Digi VRM for ITX" so I'm assuming they've just moved some of the VRM ccts off of the main board to allow for a beefier power section within the physical space constraints of an mITX board... that's just a guess though.

Bingo.... they've designed it that way so that enthusiasts can get the same type of OC out of it as a full atx board

wow, so that gives it the same overclocking of the larger boards.
that's really remarkable. now if they could just make one with e-SATA 6Gb/s.
and firewire.
and 4 x onboard 6Gb/s connectors.
oh, and an ice cream maker...

Haha knew that was coming and man they have watercooling and ln2 but no ice cream maker????

Seriously. I see no reason a refrigerator compressor cpu cooler can't pull double duty.
