I bought CPU's from both memory express and NCIX that had these heatsink marks on them.

I've always thought it was because they test it before packaging it up.

Now you guys got me feeling ripped off.

Looked at your video - the "carved" edges you see on the sides of the CPU is normal ! I cannot count the number of CPUs I have used over the many years and all of them had this - This will NOT affect cooling or processor in any way. As far as the HS marks on the CPU from the TIM, I have not ever seen this from a new CPU, mine all arrived clean. Yes testing is done, but they might have overlooked the cleaning process - does not look too "professional". In any case, I have ordered a lot of things through directcanada over the years and most times things appear "opened" / used. Even received a GFX card in a BAG with a tape inside an opened box! Received AMD HSFs broken, without the screws, and I can write a book, in ALL cases I had absolutely no problems at all and systems running torture for years not a problem. I was assured before by DC that they never sell used / returned / refurbs, but I have my doubts about a lot of things !I won't name names, but I know people in the distributor world and people who know people, good sources, and the things I was told are shocking - well to some, but not to me..........when you are buying stuff, be it a regular store, online, or whatever, you might actually be buying something refurb or returned and refurbed as new (repacked I should say)....... In any case, same thing happened to a printer, and it is working for years without a problem.

I must say that DC's service has gone from average to absolute worse now in terms of customer care, service, etc.
