Personally, the big picture for me is that the VAST majority of users wouldn't even need the higher end phenom X4's

And how long are they out.. If you bought one of those when they first released then I dare say you should be pretty happy with your investment.


Most people buy to suit 2 things... no.1 is pocket... what can they afford.. no2 is what they need it to do.. plus a lil bit so it's not needing replaced in a yr or 2.

Hell my old Athlon64 4000+(single core socket 939) is still going strong and with a 8800GT it still plays all but the newest of games..
(it's stays at a friends and I use it for gaming nights over there and his kids use it the rest of the time)
