Default New build ...

Hi all ! A friend of mine asked me to build a new mid-range system for his son. Here's what I came up with:
  • Asus P5K-E WIFI
  • C2D E8400 or E8200 ( I wonder wich one is the best overclocker...any help here... ). I am also considering a e4300 or e4500, but I haven't heard a ton on that last one...
  • Zalman cnps9700 LED
  • Pc power and cooling silencer quad 750 Watts
  • Western Digital 320 Gig
  • BFG 8800gt oc
  • Corsair XMS2 Dominator 2x2gigs pc6400 or G.SKILL PC2-8000 4GB 2x2 Gb DDR2-1000
  • Antec nine hundred case
  • samsung dvd-r/rw
So what do you think...Any comments or advices will be welcome !

My System Specs

Default

Mobo - good if you want onboard wi-fi.

CPU - Get the E8x00 over the E4X00, I have both. It kills me how slow my E4500 is at work compared to my E8400.

HSF - Zalman overpriced and overrated. I've had them. If you're looking for Max OC, go with a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme, but there's lots of good coolers in the $40-50 price range, like this one
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...T&promoid=1046

or see Tom's Hardware list, they compare lots of them.

PSU - 750w is a lot if you aren't going to use SLI or Crossfire. Can save some money by using say an OCZ StealthXtreme 600w. On for $57 after $20 rebate at NCIX. OCZ owns PC Power & Cooling by the way.

HD - You can get 500gb for under $100 almost anywhere online. This would be my minimum size in any new system now.

GPU - Love my 8800 GT. Good choice.

Memory - Get the Gskills, they're what allowed my OC to hit 4.0 GHz. Couldn't get there with DDR2-800.

Case - Love the Antec 900, that's what I'm getting next.

DVD - Samsung is the current fave out there, I have the SH-203B.

This should build you a 4.0 Ghz system that hits 13,500 in 3dMark06 (like mine). But would still be a really good system at stock speeds. Should be around $1150 plus tax and shipping. Plus Windows, keyboard and mouse, and LCD.
