I believe the retail embargo lifts the 29th. Nice little chips though! Price points are pretty darn solid for what you're getting.

im now so happy with my 3820 purchase from 3 weeks ago, for the board and cpu i only paid $470 after tax and looking at the review i didnt loose much performance at all if i were to wait. Ivy seems kind of what penyrn was to kentsfield, big reduction in power consumption, and a small clock-to-clock increase.

They will be available to purchase next week. It's a soft launch.

I was hoping to the performance increase would be more significant. I guess i will be sticking with my i7 970 @ 4.5ghz for a while longer. I was really hoping to build a whole new PC around the reviewed gigabyte 7950 I got from here.

I think people that bought a LGA 1366 platform got incredible bang for their buck. I wish it was slightly more power efficient, but it is still a great platform that has held its own over the years.

Guess many of us will wait to see what the 3570K benchmarks are like. This for non-enthusiasts looks great, but anyone who waited and wanted to push these very high must also be disappointed.

Well this only means sandy bridge prices will increase. I don't think many people that like to oc would go for ivy bridge. Specially myself, when I can get to 5.0 with 2600K or 2500K with an air cooler, why would I get this. Intel dropped a ball on this one, but luckily they are still the king, AMD simply sucks. Their best chip is comparable to a low end quad 1156, barely beats 775.

That would be your opinion however the 965BE still can be paired up with a 7970 and do the job.

I'll be passing on intels new offerings again.

I have benched a 965 BE at 4.0 ghz vs Q9450 at 4.0ghz(LGA 775) and yes Q9450 beats it clock for clock!!!! Yes of course you can game with 965 without any issues, but clock for clock AMD is 2 generations behind at least. I also recently owned a 1055T, 1100T and FX 6100, and really they are no match for even LGA 1156, I5 750 clock for clock.

Though the 3770k beast the a8-3870 for IGP gaming, I'll still stick to a8 systems for my lan party room setup as they are massively cheaper.
