Best AM3+ Processor for Dual HD 6950s

I have a single AMD HD 6950 2gb, and I'm about to purchase another. For a processor, I have the AMD Phenom II 955 BE, overclocked to 3.8ghz, but I think this will be a bit of a bottleneck. My motherboard is AM3+, and I would rather not switch to an intel board, so what processors would be best to prevent bottlenecks with my new Crossfire setup?

Either a 1090T/1100T if you can find one.

^^agreed 1090t/1100t. By reviews they are better at gaming then the new FX (bulldozer) CPU. That said I honestly don't think the upgrade would be worth it at this point. Your CPU will perform very close to the same as an X6 in games. If you find you are bottlenecked by the 955 I would say wait for the cash to go to an intel build (i5 2500k/ ivy bridge i5 3570k when it comes out).

A bulldozer COU will just make the bottleneck worse so stick with what you have unless you want to go with a new mobo too.

I agree the Bulldozer want help.newegg has a 1045T ,don't know if that will help.

I guess I'm still mourning the loss that was the Bulldozer processors. Most of the reason I went AM3+ was due to how good they were supposed to be. I already knew what you all told me, I just didn't want to admit it.

I have a few questions. How much ram do you have? What resolution are you running?

A Phenom II clocked at 3.8GHz is pretty potent for gaming. If you're running at least 8Gb of ram and massive resolution (i.e. - eyefinity) you may not see any difference between your 955 and an x6 Thuban.
