Default Physicist explains Ivy Bridge heat problem

Found this video posted in another forum, Physicist Michio Kaku explains why Ivy Bridge is a mini nuke reactor with its new 3d tri gate transistor, very interesting stuff. Im still buying it next week but it looks like we are almost at the end of what silicon can do.

I watched that last week ago. I really like his explaination but moore's law applies to all computing power, not just ivy bridge.

I always loved watching stuff like this, to learn is to grow.

Well yeah, but the OP was making the specific connection between the video and Ivy Bridge because IB is a die shrink, and reportedly has a much higher heat output than Sandy Bridge. supposedly this is because it's a die shrink, and we're starting to really reach the limits of silicon.

I love watching Kaku's videos, probably one of my favorite theoretical physicist. He can explain things to the point where anyone can understand it.
