Core i5 3570K or Core i7 3770K
I am not sure which one to get for upcoming build either the Core i5 3570K or Core i7 3770K. From what I was told today when I went into a local computer shop here in Ottawa that the price for the 3570K is going to be similar to the current price of the 2500K around $220-$230 and the price of the 3770K will be similar to the 2700K $330-$340.

I don't plan on upgrading again till either Broadwell or maybe not even till Skylake comes out.

Here is the list of the rest of the hardware that will be used in this build. Most of the stuff is already bought except for the processor, motherboard and case.

MOBO: ASUS ROG Maximus V Gene
RAM: G.SKILL RipjawsZ 16GB DDR3-1600MHz
GPU: Zotac GeForce GTX 570 (Will get a second one in mid or late summer)
SSD: Mushkin Chronos 120GB SATA3
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm SATA3
PSU: Silverstone Strider ST-1200
CASE: Fractal Design Arc MIDI
HSF: Antec Kuhler H20 920

What will the computer be used for? That is the determining factor for the CPU. If you need more then 4 cores go with the 3770k.

It will be used for gaming, benchmarking, graphic and video rendering. I will also be overclocking (but that's a given lol).

You better start looking at reviews if you are planning on overclocking it,because the ivory-bridge get hot even when water cooled.

I've been reading the reviews and I'm not liking what I am reading. I don't like how they weren't able to get the TDP to 77W like what was first thought. I don't see an improvement over Sandy Bridge. I might end up getting a 2600K or 2700K instead. I also noticed right now Canada Computers has the Maximus Gene-Z/GEN3 on sale for $169.99.
