My System Specs

Default

I always had ok temps. With the Antec 900 and a few extra fans doing spot duty I had good airflow.

Now they are both watercooled.

580 FSB - E3110 & DFI T2RS

570 FSB - E8400 & DFI T2RS

Minus 15-20 FSB for 3d/Orthos.

How long did you stress test for? I run orthos for at least 12 hours before I consider my system stable. Some do 24 hours. I've had some "stable" configs hang after 4 hours of orthos, and had to tweak again.

Stress testing is BS! We only go for SUICIDE runs! LOL

Who runs at max fsb for 24/7 use? I know I dont, it is hard on hardware. Max fsb is useful for sub zero benching runs and that's about it.

Probably not for 24/7 100% CPU folding etc, but I'm sure some people will use it for gaming purposes to squeeze more fps.

seriously though, every motherboard i have owned in the last year or so does 500FSB with ease. before volt mods, stock cooling, no real effort. and that list includes some not quite known for high FSB...

Asus P5B-Dlx
Asus P5N32-E SLI
Asus P5K3-Dlx
Asus Maximus Extreme
Abit IP-35-Pro
Abit QuadGT

i have all kinds of screenshots from dual 32M SPi to hours and hours of prime like in the screenshot above. the key is the CPU...back when 65nm chips ran the roost, 500FSB CPUs on air were fairly rare...i had a 560FSB stable on air E6600, so magically all my boards ran 500+FSB with ease

Those are some sweet numbers...maybe I should go back to my benching table??
