Default MSI motherboard quality?

I am considering purchasing one of the new MSI z77 motherboards for my 'build revision'. Can anyone share their thoughts and experiences in the past with recent generation MSI motherboards. WOuld you recommend me doing so or should I just stick with ASUS?

Yeah I think the bios is perhaps the only limiting factor of their boards, otherwise they are very solid.

I've had a couple of AMD chipset boards over the last couple of years and have been pretty happy with them. I'd definitely consider them 1'st tier, and suggest that they often offer good bang-for-buck when you consider the features they're including at a particular price point.

My last msi board was the p55gd80, It was a great board and it held up to a fair bit of abuse from me. the bios just isn't as refined as something from evga or asus. . We must wait for the reviews to see how the msi z77 boards are. But on a side not msi has canadian rma centres so thats always good.

Some people just have issues with msi's bios on some boards. Maybe they are retards and cause the problems themselves, who knows, but MSI's are never a poor choice.

I'm not one to fiddle around much in there because I don't know a whole lot more then doing a modest Sandy Bridge OC and updating the bios. I will take the chance. sswilson seems to think highly of them and with the Canadian RMA and competitive pricing I think it's worth it. I'm switching from an mATX to ATX case and I think the MSI z77A-GD55 looks cool and will suit the my blue theme and all of my needs...... I know.... cheeze.

This is a statement from his latest MSI Z77 showcase video. Is this just as a selling point for NCIX?
