what's the best overclocking mATX mobo?

as far as I currently know, the Asus P5E-VM HDMI is the best there is...so it's my primary candidate. I'm just wondering if there are other offerings out there, one's perhaps that have slipped my notice.

I'm also interested in getting a good mATX case that lends itself towards good cooling that can use my 8800GTS & fit my Corsair 620HX PSU. I realize now that I have to change my cooler from the Ultima 90 to something else, just what will give me performance as close as that is unknown.

specs for the system are:
E2160 (already have)
4GB Mushkin DDR2-800
8800GTS 320 (which I plan on silencing, as I want a quiet system)
200GB Maxtor DM10
500GB Samsung (hope to get another and a decent RAID card to RAID 1 them)
Corsair 620HX 620w modular PSU

as mentioned, I have the Ultima 90 HSF already, but I don't think it will fit my plans now. options?

it's going to run Vista Ultimate 64bit (yes, I have a license).

I have an Antec Titan case, but I've realized in my room, with everything I already have, I just don't have the space! I need to get something small and efficient.

soo, I have but one thing to say...:help:

That board is supposed to be a killer OC'er with HDMI & DX 10.1 to boot!! We've got a guy here in HFX who claims to have had it up to 500 FSB, I can't think of anything else that even comes close.

that's what I thought sswilson. what about cases? the NSK1300 won't work, due to it's proprietary PSU and 350w isn't enough to power my entire system.

I would love an SFF styled system, small footprint that can cool well and let me OC with my 620HX PSU. thoughts or suggestions?

How about the Rogue? NZXT. Products. Or the Sugo SG-03?

Mr. Friendly March 22, 2008 09:17 PM

I think the Rogue is a decent looking case, but the issue with it and the Sugo's are almost no compatibility with HSF besides stock. you slide the base out out and you're blocked by the external cage when going back in. :-(

I might be up for going with something that looks like a desktop (or whatever they call them now). $100ish is about my price range, preferably.

nobody has anything more to offer? >_<

Just go for the P5E-VM and the Rogue!
