Default Cut the 8150 in half?

Hey guys, I have an AMD FX-8150 and I was wondering, would disabling 1 core in each module make it faster? Would Windows schedule loads a lot better if I did this? I saw a post saying it increases performance 20% on some benchmarks so I was wondering, would this actually make a difference? I use my system mostly for gaming so maybe I'd get higher FPS or something, I do have an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX mobo so I can turn cores off If I need to. So yeah, what does disabling Core 1, 3, 5 and 7 do performance wise?

I doubt it would help all that much, but at the least you could probably pull a bigger overclock out of it and get more performance that way.

Most of what I read mentions that you only want to disable cores to achieve a higher overclock. You could disable 4 cores and overclock higher which would perform better in some games and benchmarks, but in my opinion is not worth the time and effort unless you get your rocks off on high benchmark numbers.
