My System Specs

Default Asus Strker II 790i; $500!!!

Well I knew it would be pricey, but wow. I guess if people are spending 400 for DDR3, 600 for GX2s, and 1800 for new QX CPUs, then what the hell

Wow thats insane. I don't think there is any way I could ever justify spending over $300 on a motherboard, let alone $500. Both the EVGA and XFX 790i motherboards are in the $370 range. Hard to believe that ASUS's 790i actually gives you $130 more performance/features. And you will also lose 99% of customer support.

That may be a sweet board but for sure thats a hefty price to pay especially after the price you need to pay for everything else.

Hell, my Asus M3A32-MVP cost me $240 in December and I had scratched my head real hard thinking I've overspent.

I wouldn't buy this. Way to expensive and you could get almost the same out of a board half the price.

I can't justify spending over $200 on a motherboard...

I'm not saying that it's a bad motherboard, but who the heck can afford something that will be obsolete in a few months?

I agree, I used to spend a fortune on boards now I keep it under $200. What you get extra for those extra hundreds of dollars is really insignificant.

I really hope the chipset is better for overclocking and running stable for that much coin...
