My System Specs

Default Hello everyone!!!

I am looking to build my g-ma a computer for basically just internet, a few amateur games, and maybe some word processing. I have an idea on the setup, but I have no experience with the APU's from AMD. Any help is appreciated.

Gigabyte GA-A75-UD4H
Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-A75-UD4H FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD A8-3850
Newegg.com - AMD A8-3850 Llano 2.9GHz Socket FM1 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6550D AD3850WNGXBOX

PC Power and Cooling MKIII 600W
Newegg.com - PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III PPCMK3S600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Kingston Hyper-X Red LE 8GB
Newegg.com - Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Red Limited Edition Model KHX1600C9D3B1RK2/8GX

WD Caviar Blue 160GB (These elevated prices are #$&%ing outrageous)
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Blue WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

I may put a Corsair Accelerator in there in the future just to make it a little quicker.
Accelerator Series

Thanks in advance for all the help and input!

Look around & save some $ on mobo
http://http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX35117 $90

Personally I think quad core for surfing is overkill
http://http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX35492 $75

I think 4gb ram is plenty for granny
http://http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX33242 $30

500 watt psu is plenty
Silverstone Strider Essential ST50F-ES 500W Power Supply ATX 24PIN 120MM Fan 34A 80+ Black - Silverstone Technology - ST50F-ES $60

Oops, fixed. Also instead of getting a WD blue + Corsair accelerator I would just go with this:Western Digital 500GB Caviar Black 7200rpm SATA III w/ 32MB Cache at Memory Express

or a small ssd.
