I know what the DS3L can do. I was thinking of the Asus board for a friend that wants to do SLI and an E2180.

What is your rendering software. Typically, you can tell if it benefits from multi cores when their recommended system requirements list dual Xeons or PowerMacs....

Hmmm I am not too familiar with Fireworks. I know Photoshop will see little to no difference if we were to compare a 2.4GHZ Quad (Q6600) to a 2.4GHZ Dual (E6600). For Photoshop, the E3110 Xeon will be the faster choice, but once again, not sure about fireworks. Their system Requirements list at least a Dual core, but no where does it suggest a quad. I don't think Fireworks requires a quad core. Graphics card I've decided upon the EVGA 9600GT since they can be had for $150 after rebate. Processor I'm still up in the air either a E3110 - $219.99 or an E8200 - $194.85

As for a PSU it's between either the Silverstone Strider ST60F 600W - $104.99, the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610W - $109.99 or the Corsair CMPSU-620HX 620W - $109.98 (after MIR)

Go E3110, as it has the extra CPU multi, meaning better FSB choices for overclocking. Either one of those PSU's is going to be a great choice. I am a fan of the Corsair, as I had that one, and it was beutiful. The modular cables were great, and they were all very long and easy to run. Also, it is dead silent

I've used Corsair before I was very happy with them but I think what I'm going to do is save up the money and then once I have reevaluate the parts upon prices at that time.

No, I'm not going SLI. At least not anytime soon. The nvidia chipsets appear to be too finicky atleast the 680i 650i and 750i do and well I can't afford the 780i right now. If I did change to SLI in the future it would be either the 780i or the 790i
