Shouldnt my intel 3930k get a score 7.9?

Just wondering if anyone knows why an intel 3930k processor wouldnt score a 7.9 on the windows experience index? I have 7.9 for everything except my harddrives and my processor. I know im not gonna get 7.9 out of my raptors but i would have thought my 3930k would have, is there a setting that i might have wrong in bios that could be hindering it ? its scoring 7.8 atm and was a little stumpped because my board and processor were the most premium parts in my system. thx in advance for any help much appreciated! BTW my board is P9X79 PRO

Well first of all the WEI is an absolute piece of garbage that only does limited amount of tests and is no way, shape, or form an accurate way to determinate the performance of your system. There are proper benchmarking programs out there for that.

More then likely the reason you don't have 7.9 for the processor is probably because its running at the default speed, whereas if it was overclocked to 4.2GHz or faster window's cpu test would yield it to score higher.

Haha.....

W E I is garbage.

my 3930k @ 4.4Ghz doesnt even get a 7.9.

Don't worry about it.

Most useless statistic ever.

Don't bother with it,

Agreed with above posters try 3DMARK 11 (it's got a free version online and theres a thread for it here as well!)

I always wondered why everyone said WEI was garbage, till I ran it a second time after changing absolutely nothing and had 3 ratings jump from 7.5/7.6 to 7.9.

5.3ghz 2600k gets me a 7.8 with WEI yet I can get a 85k CPU score in 3d mark vantage.

It does absolutely nothing for Windows.

WEI was implemented as a means of seeing if programs could work on your system but it failed horribly and doesn't get used.

a neat benchmarking tool that I found recently is called SiSoftware Sandra. it will test just about any stat you want to look at on your computer.
the reason I found it was because I wanted to find the FLOPS of my CPU and GPU. found out that it was 98 GFLOPS and 1.3 TFLOPS respectively. I could probably get higher on my GPU by OCing it a bit more.
EDIT: got my video card to 1.6TFLOPS
