Default Quick Question Please Help ASAP

I have currently

i7 930 DO with ASUS P6X58D-E

would I be better off with 2500K with P8P67 Pro

Need to know asap thanks for any input I think its a pretty easy decision but I don't know much about that MOBO but pretty sure the 2500K will blow away my i7 930!

Depends what you are looking for. You should get a higher OC out of the 2500k, but if you are looking for PPD the 930 is better (4 cores, 8 threads with HT vs 4 cores).

The 2500k could net you up to 10-15% general performance gain in benchmarks, possibly more if you want to easily take it up for 4.2ghz or fiddle and little more for 4.4ghz+.

value wise it's fairly even I don't think either party would be complaining about their new platform.

If it's a trade up trade, personally I think its rather worth it as the 1366 platform doesn't have as much resell value as it used to anymore.

Well it's done now did the trade won't get to put it together and play with it till tonight.

He said he left his OC on it that is 4.5GHz with no bumps etc... So now I have to decide if I want to stick with that as my main system and give my wife my i7 950 (currently clocked to 3.6GHz (first time I ever oc'ed haven't pushed it at all lol).

Either way I'll have to swap a bunch of parts around any input is appreciated lol! All my parts are in my sig!

As for what parts to put where...that's a toss up, but IMO you got the better deal (though he can now tri-SLI). Enjoy.

Yup hes already got it setup and is prime 95ing 4.0GHZ with 3 GTX 470's lol.

I gotta get this 2500K setup yet in a tower (its already pre-clocked by him stable at 4.5GHz.)

Question is do I use this as my gaming computer now (mostly only do gaming on my machine and web browsing). And put the i7 950 as my wifes machine that is our media center/second gaming machine etc.. lol always has stuff going on with it. The i7 930 we had though did a great job for her so either will work so just comes down to which will do better for me for gaming lol!
