Default check i7 920 VID

I just got my i7 920 system setup, and I am running CPU-z while running prime95 and on the core voltage section it says 1.072v. Would that be an accurate representation of my VID?

I've read on some online forums that said software can't properly detect VIDs because of bloomfield's funky architecture. If so, how can i check it?

If it is a D0 revision chip then 1.072V could very well be your vCore.

That is definitely on the (much) lower-end of the spectrum, but I have seen it.

It's a C0/C1 revision, I think it's a bit low too. Could it just be the vDroop? It also drops to 1.040v when speedstep is engaged.

Try a different monitoring program like Asus Probe II or similar if you don't have an Asus board. 1.07 does seem low.

Load your cpu with prime95 or intel burn test (my personal favorite). Then see what kind of readings cpu-z gives you. Idle voltage is always lower than the load one.
