Default Intel core i7 2600 vs 2600k

i have seen on the intel's website that some of the 2600 features are missing on the 2600k such as
trusted execution technology,vPro technology etc
why is this so?

They're enterprise features (rare is the home user who needs them) and enterprise users don't want anything resembling stability questions so they don't overclock.

Basically instead of something like price discrimination (discounts for seniors, etc), it's feature discrimination.

The K unlocked series is targeted towards overclockers who generally have little interest in enterprise features like vPro which allows remote access to a computer for management.

Enterprise users will not be overclocking, so they get the non-K series.
