Looking for a good mobo

For my new build I am looking for a good mobo to overclock a q6600 while being sli compatable. I'm an asus fan, but I'm not sure what would be best. 45 nanometer compatability would be nice too and maby even 1066 ddr2, but I don't really want to spend 300 bucks.

If you want SLI, then unfortunately you have to stick with a 680i or 780i chipset board..

If you want Crossfire, the P35 does work, but for true CrossFire Performance the X38 is deadly, it performs real good, and with the new Catalyst 8.3 drivers out, 3870 X2 Crossfire beats anything Nvidia throws at it.. Crossfire X is also an option, you can get 1 3870X2 card and one 3870 card, and Crossfire it.

Personally even though I run SLI, the P38 and X38 boards overclock better, and for the first time in few months or about a year, I see AMD ATI beating Nvidia at its own game.. So my suggestion stick with Crossfire.. Just my 2 cents..

Asus has removed the 780i boards in anticipation for the arrival of the 790i. And I agree with scratch, if your partial to ASUS and you want SLI you'll most likely pay the 300 + price point. Now you could go with ASUS P5N-D SLI 750i ( http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=ASUS ) 160.92 at NCIX. Haven't read much on this board, as for myself I'm waiting for the 790i. But looks like it might fit your wants possibly. Check it out.

The p5n-d is the board I was looking at. Anyone know how it is for ocing?

I'm still on the fence about going ati or nvidia. My friend just bought a 3870x2 and it really doesn't seem to perform like it supposedly should. I don't know if this is just a drivers issue and in a few months it will be kicking butt, or what.
