My System Specs

Default Rampage IV Formula and Gene

Found this today (might be old news to some...Sky mentioned the release too):
ASUS Ready with Rampage IV Formula; Rampage IV Gene in the Pipeline | techPowerUp

Looks like the Formula will have the X Socket for those who want to keep their current HSF/Blocks. Just like the Extreme. Makes the price of these boards more 'reasonable'. Intel GB Lan, and a new audio solution. 'Only' 4 memory slots, and standard ATX-sized. Not sure if it has the enhanced USB 3.0 (not the regular USB 3.0).

No pricing yet.

Looks like I need to save $1500 to get one of these boards and a 3960.

On second though, not bloody likely.

$1000 not $1500

$1000 for the processor, plus the board, right? Add taxes, and you're looking at $1500 or so.

Or am I gravely mistaken.

$630 for the processor. $1000 is for the fastest one...one step down is $630 (still not cheap).

$1000 plus tax for a high-end setup for ram, this board, and chip.

Aaaah, turns out I was gravely mistaken.

I was definately thinking about the fastest processor, and misnamed it. However, it does make perfect sense to go with the $630 option.

On that board, are the PCI slots x16 x16 x4 x4?

Not sure. You get two 16x slots, but if you fill them all up I do believe that they turn to 8x (but they are PCI-E 3.0)

On the RIVE for quad SLI it is 16/8/8/8. Probably the same on this one.
